Optimal integration of wind energy with a shunt-FACTS controller for reductions in electrical power loss

The integration of distributed generators (DGs) with flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) can improve the performance grid system. In this study, we determine location and optimal size one type DG, based on wind energy, a shunt-FACTS control device called static var compensator (SVC). voltage profile is increase power loss reduced due to an improvement in from maximizing load bus system scenario. Newton-Raphson flow turbine generator (WTG) SVC are formulated as multi-objective problem MLB minimizing (Ploss) by satisfying various constraints, namely loading limits, generation small-signal stability. A variant genetic algorithm, non-dominated sorting algorithm II (NSGA-II), used solve these conflicting optimization problems. Modifications IEEE 14-bus standard practical test integrated WTG PSAT software simulation results indicate that allocation SVC, determined using proposed technique, improved performance, since all specified constraints met.
